Celebration of the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord in Bulawayo

We celebrated the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord at St. Andrew’s Parish. The parish always welcomes us and is happy to hosts our Congregational celebrations. As Missionaries of Byo 2nd february 2015New P CouncilMariannhill we are very grateful for this welcome and communion we share with the parish. This year 2015, on this feast one of our confreres Frt Kevin Prize Madzivanyika pronounced his perpetual commitment to religious life in the Congregation of the Missionaries of Mariannhill. Kevin Prize Madzivanyika comes from St. Bernard’s Parish in Pumula.

In this liturgy, the new Provincial leadership was also installed. The Members of the Provincial council are: Fr Peter Nkomazana – Provincial, Fr Fikile Dlamini – Vice Provincial, Fr Adrian Maqhawe Ndlovu – Councillor, Br Alois Humpf – Councillor, Fr Lungisani Moyo – Councillor.

Byo 2nd February 2015 ProfessionsIn spite of the fact that this feast fell on a Monday, a working day, the occasion was well attended by priests, religious sisters, brothers and the lay faithful. The liturgy was well prepared by the choirs from St. James, Mastered Seed, St. Andrew’s, Christ the King, with some from St. Mary’s Basilica. Their active participation was uplifting as they used their talents and giftedness to move and motivate the whole congregation to rejoicing and praising God. We appreciate the working together of these parishes in the Eastern deanery, were we work as Mariannhill missionaries. Fr Peter Nkomazana presided over the liturgical celebration. The homily focused mainly on the practical application of the celebration of the year of consecrated life. The master of ceremony of the day, Deacon Alistair Gogodo moderated well the proceedings of the day, keeping the Byo 2nd February 2015 Parentsliturgy flowing smoothly with the dignity and solemnity it deserves.

We congratulate Br Kevin for this important step in his life and the life of the Missionaries of Mariannhill. We wish him God’s abundant graces as he continues his Theological studies at the Trinity College in Harare.
