On September 8th, the feast of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, we celebrated the Feast of our Patroness. For that purpose we met in Salamanca.
That day, early in the morning, we had the celebration of the Eucharist, in which Frt. Thomas Camissone Guetsane CMM received the ministry of Acolyte. Our deacon, Rafael Manuel Chichava CMM, preached delivered the homily during the celebration. Among other wise things, the preacher encouraged us consider Mary as our Patron and to invoke her under the tender name of Mother of Mariannhill, because She is a Mother who binds us more strongly with his Son Jesus; because She is a Mother who unites us as brothers; because She is a Mother who heals and looks after our wounds.
Frt. Thomas, as an Acolyte, will assist the deacons and the priests in the service of the altar; he will distribute the Holy Communion to the faithful and carry it to the sick and will expose the Blessed Sacrament as prescribed in the Ritual. Above all, he is now invited to have a special dedication to the Eucharistic ministry, to live more intensely the sacrifice of the Lord and, and to seek the Lord more fully and identify himself with Him.
Once installed, the new Acolyte received the gifts for the celebration of the Eucharist: the paten with the bread and cup of wine. Immediately afterwards, Frt. Thomas assisted the presider and the deacon at the altar.
After the celebration, we hiked to Miranda do Douro /Portugal, where we spent the day and we could enjoy the famous Portuguese cod and then returned to Spain via Zamora.
The next day we held a Provincial Assembly, in which the course 2013/2014 was evaluated and we programme the new course 2014-2015.
